Title:
Unable to Locate My Database File on Vista or Later

Overview:
When running FLEETMATE® on Windows® Vista or Windows 7, the default database path is C:\Users\Public\FLEETMATE. When running FLEETMATE on Windows XP, the default database path is C:\Program Files\FLEETMATE.

Releases of FLEETMATE Prior to Build #103:
If you installed FLEETMATE prior to build #103 on Windows Vista or Windows 7, as a default the operating system would have actually stored your database in a "VirtualStore" folder, completely different from the normal C:\Program Files\FLEETMATE folder where you would expect it to be stored. This is normal behavior with these operating systems. In order to view and access this path, you will need to use Windows Explorer to navigate to the "C:\Program Files\FLEETMATE" folder, and then click the "Compatibility Files" button in the upper portion of the Explorer window. You will then see the VirtualStore folder path where your database file is stored, which will resemble the path below:

  • Desktop/yourusername/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/FLEETMATE

If you find your database stored in the VirtualStore folder, it is recommended that you move your database file from the VirtualStore folder, to the C:\Users\Public\FLEETMATE folder to avoid future confusion. You can also opt to move your database file to a network folder on a server.
